KitchenAid KEWS105S Warming Drawer Repair

The KEWS105S is a 30-inch Architect Series II warming drawer, normally installed under a wall oven or in a cabinet bank beside the range so plates and dishes stay warm while a meal comes together. It is also sold as the KEWS105SPA and KEWS105SSS.
Warming drawers get less attention than ovens, but they work for hours at low heat, and that slowly wears the element, the sensor wiring and the slides. We begin with the control and the sensor temperature control, then confirm the element heats and the drawer closes with an even seal.
A 4-hour timer and automatic shutoff add logic to the control, so a drawer that turns off by itself is not always broken. We read the settings and test the shutoff before replacing anything. Our price is written before the repair, and the work has a 30-day warranty.
Not necessarily. The automatic shutoff and the 4-hour timer end a session on purpose. If it stops sooner than that, we test the sensor and the control to see why it is cutting out.
Low, steady heat is gentle on an element, so many last for years. When the drawer stays cold, we test the element for continuity, then the sensor and the control before ordering parts.
The slides may be dry, bent or loaded unevenly with heavy pans. We check the rails, rollers and the cabinet fit, and adjust or replace parts so the drawer glides straight.
