KitchenAid KVWB406D Canopy Hood Service
A KVWB406D is a 36-inch wall mount canopy hood by KitchenAid, hung on the wall over a wider range or cooktop. Its other number is KVWB406DSS.
The wider canopy covers more of the cooking surface, but that makes clean filters and a balanced blower even more important. When we service one, we start with the three speeds, then pull the filters, check the wheel and motor and inspect the lamps. We state the price in writing before any part is ordered. Our repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.
We keep the work area covered so grease from the filters does not land on your range. When we finish, the hood is wiped down and the filters are back in place.
High speed spins the wheel fastest, so imbalance from grease or a loose set screw shows up there. We clean the wheel, tighten the screw and test the motor mounts.
Many metal filters can, but a gentle hand wash in warm soapy water is safer for the finish. Either way, wash them often so the blower stays clean.
Flicker points to a loose bulb, a worn socket or a failing switch. We test each in turn, replace the one that is failing and give you the price before we proceed.
