We serve High Island for KitchenAid refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, ranges and washers. Book ahead through our site or by phone; visits are grouped with other Bolivar Peninsula calls.

Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach KitchenAid diagnostics here.
Martin Dunman settled in 1845 and a post office opened in 1897, then the 1930s oil strikes in the marshes ringed the dome with about 200 flowing wells. Around 300 residents lived here in 2014.
Fewer houses means fewer neighbors to ask for a plumber or electrician. Tell us what you know about the wiring and shut-off valves before we arrive.
Water for High Island comes from the eastern end of the Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District. In 2004, after years on groundwater wells, the district turned to treated surface water supplied by the Lower Neches Valley Authority's Winnie plant.
A KitchenAid ice maker or water dispenser will taste and run differently on surface water than on well water. A new filter helps most.
Elevation keeps many houses at a greater distance from tidal water than the beach towns, yet humidity and salt from the Gulf still arrive. Pollen and leaves from wooded lots around the bird sanctuaries clog outdoor condensers.
On a wooded lot, a KitchenAid refrigerator or freezer needs its bottom grille kept clear. We vacuum the condenser and check the fan for debris.
Practical full-size appliances are the rule: a regular refrigerator, a dishwasher 24 inches wide and a full washer and dryer. A few owners add a stand-alone freezer for hunting and fishing seasons.
A separate freezer stays loaded for months and works hardest right after a big haul. Give it space and its own outlet.
High Island, where Highway 87 meets Highway 124, is nearer Winnie than Galveston, so we usually drive in from I-10 and skip the ferry. We plan these visits in advance and combine them with other Bolivar Peninsula stops. Come spring, birders crowd the Houston Audubon sanctuaries at Smith Oaks and Louis Smith and roadside parking tightens, so tell us if you live close by.
A refrigerator water dispenser that slows to a trickle is often a clogged filter or a frozen line, and wooded lots add leaf litter to the condenser that makes things worse. Replace the filter on schedule, vacuum the grille every season and check whether the freezer side is frosting. If the dispenser line is kinked behind the cabinet or a shutoff valve will not turn, a plumber may be the better first call.
Yes. High Island belongs to our Bolivar Peninsula route, and visits are planned ahead with other area calls.
Inspect the door seal, vacuum the condenser and leave the cabinet room to breathe. A freezer that keeps running anyway gets its fan and thermostat tested by us.
It can, since parking near the sanctuaries gets tight. Tell us where you live and we plan the arrival around it.
