What Over Temp means

On KitchenAid KUWR undercounter wine cellars, such as the KUWR214KSB, KUWR314KSS and KUWR304ESS, Over Temp is an audible and visual alert that a zone has run warm. It can trigger when either zone rises above its preset range for 10 minutes, or when the cellar stays above 70°F (21°C) for 4 hours or longer. The light flashes until Reset Alarm is pressed, and the alert reactivates every 4 hours while the cellar is still over range.

Common causes of Over Temp

  • The door was left open or does not seal
  • The cellar was loaded with warm bottles or sits in a hot room
  • A power interruption let the zones warm
  • The cooling is not returning the zones to range
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Close the door fully and check that no bottle blocks the seal. 2. Press Reset Alarm to stop the flashing light. 3. Keep the cellar away from heat and avoid opening it. 4. Allow several hours for the zones to cool. 5. If the alert returns, move valuable bottles somewhere cool and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Reset Alarm stops the flashing but does not cool the cellar
  • Warm zones can affect your bottles, so a repeating alert needs a real answer
  • We check the cooling and quote in writing first, with a 30-day workmanship warranty
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Why does the alert return every 4 hours?

After Reset Alarm is pressed, the alert reactivates every 4 hours while the cellar is still over range. A repeat means the temperature has not come back.
