A 48-inch chimney hood such as the KXW9748Y, also sold as the KXW9748YSS, usually goes over a large Commercial Style range with a wide cooking surface. It takes optional blowers from 600 to 1200 CFM and has a 108K BTU threshold, so airflow demands are high.
On service we check how far the hood has drifted from its original performance. That means clean filters, a clean wheel, a free-moving damper and a control that tracks the blower speed.
