KitchenAid KDTE104D Dishwasher Service

Fill problems are the story of many a KDTE104D: the tub either floods a little too high or never reaches the right level. Some plates read KDTE104DSS instead, which is the same machine. It is generally built in beside the sink and fed by a small supply line at the lower front.
We turn off the supply and check the inlet screen for sediment, then measure whether the valve opens and seals. Next we test the float, wash out the filter and sump, and look over the panel for signs of moisture. If the supply is fine and the valve measures correctly, the board gets tested last. We give you the price in writing before we begin. We finish with a full cycle to confirm the tub fills to the right level and drains completely.
Either the supply is restricted at the valve screen, or the valve coil has failed. We clean the screen first and measure the coil, which tells us which it is.
It tells the control when the tub is too full. If it sticks upward, the control believes the tub is overfull and pauses. Freeing and cleaning it often solves that.
Inside they match for most repairs. We use the full plate number to match the door panel and small parts that differ. Both finishes use the same internal parts, so the repair does not change by color.
