KitchenAid KERI500E Plug-In Element Range Repair

The KERI500E is a freestanding electric range with four high-speed plug-in elements, also sold as the KERI500EAL1 and KERI500EWH1. Plug-in elements can be lifted out and swapped, which keeps cooktop repair simpler than on many ranges.
Most of our time on this model goes to the oven. Hinges and gaskets wear, letting heat out of the front, the self-clean lock can jam, and a relay on the control board can fail. The touch panel and clock may dim. We also look at the receptacles the plug-in elements sit in, as burned contacts there cause poor heat. Any scorching at the element receptacles is shown to you before we replace it, so you can see why a plug-in element was failing early.
You get a written price before we begin, and our repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Often yes, once the range is off and cool. If the receptacle is burned, though, the new element will fail again, so we repair the contact as well before fitting it.
Poor contact at the receptacle or a worn element can cause uneven glow. We inspect both, looking for discolored terminals, and replace what shows damage.
No. The lock belongs to the self-clean system, not the cooktop. We test its motor and switch separately from the plug-in elements, so the right part is repaired.
