KitchenAid KSDG950E Range Service

The KSDG950E, also sold as the KSDG950ESS, is a range we usually visit for temperature or ignition trouble. Owners tell us the oven never quite matches the dial, or a burner keeps clicking while nothing lights. Both are common on a range that has spent years in a busy kitchen, and neither means the whole appliance is finished.
For an oven that runs off, we compare a probe reading with the temperature you set and test the sensor. For a gas oven that is slow to light, we measure the igniter under load, because an igniter can glow bright and still be too weak to open the valve. Burners get cleaned at the igniter first. If you smell gas at any point, step outside and call the gas utility. You get a written price before work, and a 30-day workmanship warranty afterward.
The valve needs a certain amount of current to open, and a worn igniter can glow while drawing less than that. We measure the draw while it heats, and replace the igniter if the reading falls short.
Sometimes a small offset can be set, but a large drift usually means the temperature sensor is wearing out. We check the sensor resistance and replace it if it no longer follows the oven temperature.
Rarely. A single dead zone normally traces to that zone's element or its infinite switch. We test both, and only the failed one is replaced, so the rest of the cooktop stays as it is.
