KitchenAid KFDC506H Commercial Range
The KFDC506H, also sold as the KFDC506HSS, is a 36-inch commercial dual fuel range: gas on the cooktop and an electric oven beneath. At this width it normally sits under a hood in a larger kitchen.
For service we split the range into its two halves. Burners are cleaned, reseated and tested for spark. The oven’s element, sensor and door seal are checked with a meter and a thermometer. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. A written price comes before we order anything, and every repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A cooktop this wide has a long run of burners, so we also look at the flame on each one. A burner with a ragged or yellow flame often needs only a good cleaning of its ports, not a new part.
Grease or moisture around the igniter. It blocks the spark, so the burner clicks without catching. We clean the igniter and burner base, reseat the cap, and replace the igniter only if the spark stays weak.
It is 36 inches wide. That affects how we move the range for access, but the checks are the same as for a narrower model: igniters, oven element, sensor and door.
