On KitchenAid ranges, code 1d11 indicates there may be a problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. It begins the 1d group, which also holds 1d12, 1d21 and 1d22, and no model is named. You may see the code on the display with an oven that heats unevenly, stops heating or will not preheat. The code is printed in lower case, exactly as shown here.
1. Cancel the bake or broil. 2. Let the oven cool completely. 3. Check that nothing touches the sensor probe inside the oven cavity. 4. Take the breaker off for a minute and restore it. 5. Try a short bake. Call us when 1d11 shows a second time.
It is a thin probe inside the oven cavity that tells the control how hot the oven is. Do not bend it or pull on it; a technician checks it and its wiring.
The message lists the sensor, the control or the wiring, so we test all three before replacing anything. That keeps you from paying for a part that was not the cause.
Do not run the oven while this code shows. A control that may be reading a bad sensor cannot regulate heat properly, so food can burn or stay raw.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
