On KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in ranges such as the KFEG500ESS and KFGG500ESS, the message Feature Not Available message scrolls across the display while you are programming a cook cycle. The range tells you to follow its prompt, either PRESS ENTER TO TRY AGAIN or DISABLE POWER TO CLEAR. It means the control detected a problem as you set the cycle.
1. Read the scrolling message and do what it says: press Enter to try again. 2. If it asks to disable power, turn the range off at its breaker for a minute, then restore power. 3. Program the cycle again. 4. If the message returns, stop and call us.
Follow what the display says, either PRESS ENTER TO TRY AGAIN or DISABLE POWER TO CLEAR. Then set the cycle again from the start, choosing your function and temperature once more.
It means a problem was detected when you set a cook cycle. If trying again works and the message stays away, you may not need service.
Call when the message returns on the next try or every time you program a cycle. A repeated message means the control still has a problem we should find.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
