FEE7 on KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in ranges like the KFGG500ESS or KSEG700ESS shows that the main cavity broil element, or the wiring that feeds it, may have a problem. The broil element sits at the top of the oven and gives the strong overhead heat. When FEE7 is on screen, broiling and sometimes other heat modes may not work as they should.
1. Press Cancel and let the oven cool completely. 2. Peek at the element at the top of the oven without touching it. Note any blistering or breaks. 3. Switch the breaker off for a minute and on again. 4. If FEE7 returns, stop broiling and call us.
The main cavity broil element at the top of the oven, or its wiring. It gives the strong overhead heat used for broiling, and the code means that heater or its supply may have a problem.
It may, because the bake element is separate. If FEE6 is not also showing, bake could be fine, but avoid long cooking until the code is checked.
Visible breaks or blisters are signs, but the code alone does not prove it. A technician tests the element and its wiring before suggesting any part, and you get the price in writing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
