Microwave Repair in Houston

Over-the-range, built-in and drawer microwaves each have different venting and mounting. If the unit runs but does not heat, sparks, or the turntable sticks, we diagnose it in your home.

The microwave group in the KitchenAid line covers over-the-range models that double as a vent hood, built-in microwaves trimmed to fit with wall ovens, and microwave drawers that slide out under the counter. Each has the same core heating system but very different venting and mounting.

Houston kitchens are humid and often greasy, and over-the-range models take the worst of it. Grease clogs the filters and the exhaust fan, steam finds its way into the control panel, and door latches and hinges wear after years of daily use. Built-in and drawer units mostly need attention to door switches, the turntable and the display.

We check the door switches, the fan, the light, the turntable and the heating path, using safe test methods for the high-voltage parts. Nothing is ordered or swapped until you have the price in writing.

05Microwave questions
The microwave hums and spins but food stays cold. Why?

The magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor can fail while the fan and turntable keep running. These carry high voltage, so we test them with the proper discharge steps and never advise owners to open the case.

Should I keep using a microwave that throws sparks?

We suggest stopping use. Sparks can come from food debris, a damaged waveguide cover or metal in the cavity. Clean what you can reach, and call us if it continues so we can check the damage.

Can you repair an over-the-range microwave?

Yes. We also check the exhaust fan, filters and the lights that make up the hood portion. Mounting brackets are inspected during the visit so the unit stays secure.
