On KitchenAid combination microwave-wall ovens such as the KOCE507ESS or KOCE900HSS, F6 E7 names the microwave appliance manager, or its wiring, as the possible problem for the upper cavity. The manager is the board that runs the microwave half. With F6 E7 on the display, the upper cavity will not run, though the lower oven may keep working. Hot-air baking in the lower oven normally goes on unaffected.
1. Press Cancel and see whether the clock comes back. 2. Switch the oven's breaker off for one minute, then on. 3. If the display recovers, try a cup of water for a few seconds. 4. If F6 E7 returns, stop using the microwave half and call.
The upper microwave cavity. The lower oven has its own electronics and may continue to work, though we advise limiting use if more messages appear.
E7 names the manager itself; E8 names the manager control. They are close relatives, so we test both while confirming which one your unit needs.
We advise against it. Boards on built-in units sit behind fixed panels, and mistakes risk shock or damage to a good oven. Pricing is always agreed in writing before work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
