KitchenAid built-in microwaves and combination units, such as the KMBP100ESS and KOCE500ESS, can display F1 E7 when the appliance control board, or the wiring to it, may have a problem. The control board manages heating, the door, and the display, so the oven may stop cooking or lose function. Think of F1 E7 as a board-level alert.
1. Cancel the cycle. 2. Switch the breaker off for one minute, then on. 3. If the display starts normally, run a short one-minute test with water inside. 4. When F1 E7 comes back, leave the oven off and arrange a visit.
It is the main electronic brain. It reads your keypad, watches the door and sensors, and switches the heating on and off. F1 E7 means that brain may be unwell.
Sometimes for a while, particularly after a power event. If the code returns, the board or its wiring is still having trouble.
Only after testing. We check the harness and connectors first, quote the price, and replace the board when the tests point to it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
