On KitchenAid commercial-style ranges with knob controls and app connectivity, such as the KFGC500JSS or KFGC506JSS, the controls may blink when the range has something to report. The first question is whether the range is connected and registered in the KitchenAid mobile app. If it is, the app can be used to see why the range is blinking and to view any error codes the appliance has logged.
1. Open the KitchenAid mobile app and check that the range appears as connected and registered. 2. Look in the app for any error code it lists. 3. Turn every knob to Off. 4. Note the code, then reset power at the breaker for one minute and restore it. 5. If the controls still blink, call us with the code you saw.
If the range is connected and registered in the KitchenAid mobile app, the app can show why it is blinking and list any error codes. Write the code down before you reset anything.
Then the app cannot show the reason. Turn the knobs off, reset power at the breaker for a minute, and note any code that appears. Call us with what you saw and we will take it from there.
Not by itself, but treat it as a warning. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. Otherwise, find the code first, and stop using the oven if it repeats.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
