On KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in ranges, such as the KFGG500ESS, KSGG700ESS or KFGS530ESS, the "Demo Mode" message points to the user interface and keypad, or the wiring that connects them. You will see the words on the display where the clock or temperature normally appears, and the keypad is the first place a technician looks. Because the pads feed the control, the oven may not respond to a bake or broil request.
1. Press Cancel and check the display. 2. Wipe the glass touch panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth, since moisture and grease can interfere with pads. 3. Switch the range off at its breaker for one minute, then restore power. 4. Try a short bake and see whether the oven responds. 5. If the message stays, call us rather than pressing more pads.
The message points to the user interface and keypad, or the wiring to them. The pads send their signals to the control, so a bad pad or connection can make the display report this.
It is possible to press the wrong pads, and that is why we suggest one Cancel press and a power reset first. If the message returns after the reset, the keypad or its wiring needs testing.
We test the keypad and wiring first, then give you a written price before any work starts. Nothing is replaced until you approve it, and the repair carries our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
