On KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in ranges, among them the KFEG500ESS and KSGG700ESS, F1 E2 is another oven control code. It points to the control, or to the wiring that connects it. The display shows F1 E2 in place of the time of day, and the oven may stop mid-cycle. We log it alongside its neighbors in the F1 group, yet each reading is recorded separately.
1. Press Cancel and read the full code. 2. Turn the range off at its breaker for one minute, then back on. 3. Set the clock and try a brief bake. 4. If the code appears during preheat, write that down for us. 5. When F1 E2 returns after a reset, stop using the oven and call us rather than resetting again and again.
They are separate readings in the same group, each pointing to the oven control or its wiring. We note which one you see so our first checks start in the right place.
Testing is usually done during the first visit. If a part is needed and we do not have it on the truck, we will tell you before ordering and quote the price in writing.
If the range is acting oddly, yes, that is a safe way to rest it. Leave the breaker off until we arrive, and keep an eye out for any gas smell on gas models.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
