KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges, such as the KFEG500ESS or KSEG700ESS, display FEE6 when the main cavity bake element, or the wiring that feeds it, may have a problem. The bake element is the lower heating part of the main oven. With this code, the oven may heat badly or not at all in bake mode.
1. Press Cancel and let the oven cool. 2. Look at the bake element through the open door without touching it, and note any visible damage. 3. Reset power at the breaker: off for a minute, then on. 4. If FEE6 comes back or the oven does not heat, call us.
The main cavity bake element, or the wiring that serves it. The bake element is the lower heater in the main oven, so bake results are what you notice first.
FEE7 names the broil element, while FEE6 is the bake element. Each code points to its own heater and its own wiring, so the visit tests the right one.
Maybe, if broil works and FEE7 is not showing. Do not cook on a range that shows signs of damage, odd smells or sparks, and call us if you see any of them.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
