On KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in ranges including the KFEG500ESS and KSGG700ESS, the display may read Lo or Pre after you turn on the oven. This is not a malfunction. It simply shows that the oven temperature is low, below 170°F, or that the oven is still preheating. The reading changes to a temperature as the oven heats, and no action is needed.
1. Leave the oven door closed and give it time to heat. 2. Watch the display change to a temperature reading. 3. If it stays on Lo or Pre far longer than a normal preheat, press Cancel and try again. 4. If it still does not heat, call us. With any gas odor, leave at once and call the utility from outside.
No. It shows the oven temperature is low, under 170°F. It disappears once the oven heats beyond that point and a real temperature is shown, which usually takes only a few minutes.
Preheating. The oven is still coming up to the temperature you set, and the display changes to a real temperature reading when it gets there, and then the oven is ready for food.
If the oven stays on Lo or Pre for much longer than a usual preheat and food does not cook, ask us to look at it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
