KitchenAid KDRS407V Light Repair

The KDRS407V, also sold as the KDRS407VSS, is a discontinued KitchenAid range. When an owner calls about this model, the first complaint is often small: the oven light is dark, the fan hums for an hour after cooking, or the lower drawer scrapes.
Small does not mean skip. A dark lamp may be a failed bulb, a corroded holder or a bad door switch, and each needs a different part. A fan that never stops hints at a control or sensor problem, and a fan that never starts risks heat damage to the electronics. We test each, then inspect the drawer runners and door glass. If the lamp keeps failing after a bulb change, we trace the wiring to the holder, because a loose connection or heat-damaged insulation can shorten the life of any new bulb.
The price is written before we begin, and our repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Not always. If the new bulb stays dark, the holder or the light switch may be burned or corroded. We test voltage at the holder and replace the failed part.
The fan runs until internal temperatures drop. If it never stops, a sensor or control may be stuck. We check what is telling the fan to stay on.
Usually. Worn runners or a bent track are the common causes, and we can often replace the runner parts and leave the drawer box in place.
