KitchenAid KFDC506JSC Six-Burner Range Service

The KFDC506JSC is a 36-inch smart dual fuel range with a six-burner gas top and an electric oven. Owners usually call about the oven first: it takes longer to preheat, or one rack position bakes hotter than another.
An electric oven in this range depends on the bake element and the sensor, and both are measurable. We meter the element, take a probe reading, and read the sensor against the temperature it should show. The burners get a quick spark test during the same visit. If the display or touch controls misbehave, we check the control connection. Smell gas, and you should leave the house and call the gas utility. A written price comes before work, and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A weakened bake element is the most frequent cause. It still glows but delivers less heat. We meter its resistance and compare the oven's real temperature against the display to confirm.
Either can cause it. An element that heats unevenly leaves hot spots, while a drifting sensor shifts the whole oven. The meter and probe readings tell us which one it is.
A quick spark test is part of our visit, but the oven is electric and is repaired separately. We do not replace burner parts that test fine.
