KitchenAid KFID500E Range Repair

The KFID500E, also sold as the KFID500ESS, is a newer KitchenAid range, so the problems we see are specific: a relay on the control board that has quit, or heat damage at the terminal block behind the range. Neither is obvious from the front, which is why a visual inspection alone is not enough.
If one oven element never comes on while the rest work, we test the relay that drives it. Discoloration or a burned smell near the rear terminal block means we pull the range forward and inspect the wiring and connections, since a loose lug heats up and damages everything around it. The oven light is the easy one, with the bulb, holder and switch tested in turn. Door glass that has slipped or a pane that has cracked is replaced. A written price comes first, and the repair has a 30-day warranty.
The relay that powers it on the control board may have failed, or the element itself is open. We test both so only the failed part is replaced.
A loose or overheated connection has burned the block or its wire ends. We pull the range out, inspect and replace what is damaged, and tighten the connection so it does not repeat.
It should not be ignored. A cracked pane weakens the door and can lead to glass failing. We replace the pane and check the frame.
