KitchenAid KUWR524S Wine Cellar Troubleshooting

The KUWR524S is a 24-inch undercounter wine cellar with full-extension wood front racks, also sold as the KUWR524SBE, KUWR524SJP and KUWR524SPS. The racks pull out fully to show a whole row of bottles, which makes this a showpiece in a bar or a dining room buffet.
That feature depends on smooth slides. We test how each rack travels, looking for twisted rails, worn rollers or wood swollen from moisture. A rack that sticks can leave the door slightly open. Then we clean the grille, test the fans and check the gasket and the control.
Your estimate is in writing before work starts, and our repairs are warranted for 30 days. We also check that the cabinet is level, because a tilt can make the full-extension racks roll out on their own or bind when you close them.
A bent rail, a worn roller or a swollen wood frame is usually responsible. We inspect the slide, replace the part that is damaged and re-seat the rack.
Bottle weight is normal for this design, but uneven loading can stress a slide. Keep heavier bottles centered and low so the racks run true.
Unplug the cabinet, then use a soft brush and a vacuum on the front grille and coil. Avoid bending fins. We handle deeper cleaning during service.
