KitchenAid KUDS30FX Dishwasher Service Call

Standing water in the sump is the most common reason a KUDS30FX gets a service call. Before replacing anything, we remove the filter and look for the obvious: a bit of glass, a seed, a piece of label wedged near the pump inlet.
If the path is clear and the pump still hums, we test the pump motor itself. A grinding noise during the wash is a different story, pointing to wear in the wash motor, and a machine that will not begin a cycle may simply have a latch switch that has stopped reading.
The model is also sold as the KUDS30FXPA and KUDS30FXSS. We quote in writing before work, and our repair comes with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A small film is normal, but standing water you can see is not. We clear the filter and sump and test the drain pump, since a partly blocked pump is the usual reason.
The latch switch may no longer register the door as shut. We test the switch and the latch alignment before suspecting the control board. If it still refuses to start, we then check the door wiring.
A hardened door seal can seep a little at a time. We inspect the seal and tub edge, and run a cycle with a towel at the base to see where the moisture appears.
