KitchenAid KESA907P Range Repair

The KESA907P is an older KitchenAid range sold in several finishes: KESA907PBB, KESA907PBL, KESA907PSS and KESA907PWW. All of them share the same base design, so what we learn on one carries over to the others. After years of cooking, the usual complaints are a cooktop zone that misbehaves and an oven that no longer holds the heat it should.
Our first stop is the cooktop. We test each element and its switch, since the two fail separately and look alike from the outside. In the oven we measure the bake and broil elements, then compare the sensor reading with the real temperature in the cavity. Door hinges and the gasket get a visual and a fit test as well. We quote in writing before we repair anything, and the finished work is covered for 30 days.
Not for the working parts. The KESA907PBB, BL, SS and WW share the same base range, though trim pieces differ by color. We read your rating plate and order the exact part.
A weak bake element is the common cause, with a drifting sensor close behind. We test both and measure the cavity with our own thermometer so the right part gets replaced.
Turn that zone off at the breaker if it will not respond to the knob. A stuck infinite switch is the usual cause, and we test it with the element before replacing anything.
