On KitchenAid undercounter freestanding ice makers with a water filter, such as the KUIX535HPS, KUIX335HPS or KUID308HPS, the "Replace Filter" light comes on only after nine months or 2,000 gallons of water use. Replace the filter every nine months, or when the ice rate drops. With very hard water, plan to do it sooner. The light is a reminder, not a breakdown.
1. Buy the correct replacement filter for your model. 2. Turn off the water supply to the ice maker if your filter requires it. 3. Swap the filter as the instructions for your model show. 4. Reset the filter light as directed. 5. Discard the first ice. 6. If the light stays on or ice output stays low, call us.
