What Call Service means

On KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in ranges, such as the KFEG500ESS, KFGG500ESS or KSEG700ESS, the display shows "Call Service" when the oven control has detected an error. The first step is to press Cancel to reset the display. If the words come back after Cancel, the next step is to reset power to the range. Until the message clears, the oven may refuse to start a bake or broil, and the words replace the usual clock.

Common causes of Call Service

The oven control recorded an error condition and posted the message
A brief electrical disturbance left the control in an error state
The error returns after a power reset, so the control system still needs a technician's check

1. Press the Cancel pad once and watch the display. 2. If the words return, switch the range off at its breaker for about a minute, then switch it back on. 3. Set the clock and try a short bake. 4.
