What Demo Mode means

On KitchenAid freestanding and slide-in ranges, such as the KFGG500ESS, KSGG700ESS or KFGS530ESS, the "Demo Mode" message points to the user interface and keypad, or the wiring that connects them. You will see the words on the display where the clock or temperature normally appears, and the keypad is the first place a technician looks. Because the pads feed the control, the oven may not respond to a bake or broil request.

Common causes of Demo Mode

  • The user interface or keypad is sending wrong or stuck input
  • The wiring between the keypad and the control is loose or damaged

1. Press Cancel and check the display. 2. Wipe the glass touch panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth, since moisture and grease can interfere with pads. 3. Switch the range off at its breaker for one minute, then restore power. 4. Try a short bake and see whether the oven responds. 5. If the message stays, call us rather than pressing more pads.
