On the KitchenAid Pro Line front-load washer KHWV, such as the KHWV01RSS, rL means Remove Load. It appears during the Washer Monthly Maintenance (clean) procedure when items are detected in the drum. The washer sounds an error tone and the door unlocks. Owners expect an empty drum for the cleaning routine and find it stopped. Remove the items and press START, and the washer re-checks, which takes about 3 minutes.
1. Open the door, which has unlocked. 2. Remove every item from the drum. 3. Check the door seal for small items. 4. Close the door and press START. 5. Wait about 3 minutes for the washer to re-check. If rL returns with an empty drum, call us.
rL is Remove Load. During the monthly maintenance routine the washer detected items in the drum, sounded an error tone and unlocked the door. Nothing is broken; the washer is protecting the cleaning routine.
Take everything out of the drum, close the door and press START. The washer re-checks for about 3 minutes before it continues the routine. Empty drums let it continue.
Check the door seal for small items. If rL still returns on an empty drum, call us so we can look at the washer with a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
