On KitchenAid KHWS and KHWV front-load washers, such as the KHWS01PWH, KHWS02RWH and KHWV01RSS, F02 means a drain problem. The washer has not been able to empty its water. Some printed guides show it as FO2, which is the same code. Owners see the cycle stop with water left in the drum. The recommended response is to cancel the cycle twice, unplug the washer, and look at the drain hose.
1. Press Cancel twice and unplug the washer. 2. Check the drain hose for kinks and straighten it. 3. Check that it is not frozen or clogged. 4. Make sure the hose does not rise more than 96 inches (2.4 m) above the floor. 5. Plug in, restart, and call us if F02 returns.
F02 is the Drain Problem code. The washer cannot empty its water, and the cycle stops. Some guides print it as FO2, which is the same code.
Cancel twice, unplug the washer, and check the drain hose for kinks, freezing or a clog. Also check that the hose is no more than 96 inches (2.4 m) above the floor.
If the hose is clear and set correctly and F02 returns, the drain system needs inspection. Call us and we will diagnose it with a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
