On a KitchenAid built-in microwave or microwave-wall oven such as the KMBP100ESS or KOCE500ESS, an F2 E1 display indicates the oven may be having trouble with the user interface or keypad, the control, or the associated wiring. The control cannot trust what the panel reports, so it blocks commands. This differs from F2 E0 only in the internal check that tripped.
1. Press Cancel. 2. Use a dry soft cloth on the panel and remove anything resting on it. 3. Cut power at the breaker for about a minute. 4. Restore power and run the clock. 5. Do not keep pressing pads if F2 E1 returns; call us.
Not necessarily. The code covers the keypad, the control and the wiring, and any of the three can cause the same message.
An intermittent contact or a warming board can pass a test at first, then drop out. The control then posts F2 E1.
Soon, because the oven may be unusable. If other appliances in the kitchen are also acting up, mention it, since a power issue could be involved.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
