KitchenAid over-the-range microwave hood combinations such as the KMHS120ESS and KMLS311HSS display F3T2 when there may be a problem with the convection thermistor, or its wiring. The thermistor tells the control how hot the convection area is. If that reading fails, the oven may stop convection or all cooking and show F3T2.
1. Cancel and let the oven cool with the door open. 2. Clear any food residue from the cavity. 3. Leave the unit unplugged for a minute, then reconnect. 4. Try a plain microwave cycle with water. 5. If F3T2 stays, call us.
Only some KitchenAid hood models do. The code is tied to that feature, so check your model and tell us when you call.
Usually, since microwave heating is separate. Try it with a cup of water.
The control still watches the thermistor and may display the code, so the problem needs repair anyway.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
