KitchenAid KCDC250K Dishwasher Repair

On a KCDC250K the water arrives through a single inlet valve at the lower front of the machine, and after years of hard water that valve is where many calls begin: either the tub overfills and water sits near the door, or it never fills and the cycle ends quickly with clean-looking, cold dishes.
We shut off the supply, check the inlet screen for sediment, and measure whether the valve opens and closes cleanly. Next we look at the float, which can stay lifted and mimic an overfill, then clean the filter and sump. If the board is the suspect, we test it last, because it is the most expensive guess to get wrong. A written price comes first and our work has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Two parts can cause that: an inlet valve that leaks through when closed, or a float that stays lifted. We test the valve with the supply connected and free the float, then decide.
The inlet screen may be clogged with sediment, or the valve coil may have failed. We clean the screen and test the coil, and the result tells us whether the valve needs replacing.
It is. A packed filter slows drainage, leaves a film on dishes and smells. Rinsing it monthly is the simplest thing an owner can do, and we show you where it sits.
