KitchenAid KERS308X Warming Drawer Range

A KERS308X, sold as the KERS308XSS, is a 30-inch freestanding electric range with a warming drawer, five radiant elements and a 5.8 cu. ft. self-cleaning True Convection oven. Its EasyConvect setting and touch controls make it a more electronic range than the plain-knob models, so some of the failures we see are in the controls.
The warming drawer is the part many owners forget until it stops heating, and it can also jam on worn runners. The convection fan is another part that works hard, and a grinding noise from the back of the oven is the warning. We check the fan, the drawer and the surface elements one at a time. A written price is given before work, and we back the repair with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
We test the drawer's heating element and its control, and look at the wiring behind it. If the drawer also sticks, we inspect the runners, since a drawer that does not close fully can affect heating.
It is a setting that adjusts conventional recipes for the True Convection oven, so a problem there usually means the oven control or the convection fan. We test the fan and control response.
Likely, yes. The True Convection fan motor wears and may rub on its blade. We confirm by running the fan, then replace the motor or blade if it is damaged.
