KitchenAid KFED500E Range Service

The KFED500E is sold in the finishes KFED500EBS and KFED500ESS, and by now a good many of them have crossed the point where the first parts wear. Usually it is a surface zone that gives up first, followed by door seals and then the lock.
We test every cooktop zone with a meter, looking at the element and its switch separately. In the oven, we check how the door closes, because even a small gap at the gasket changes how the cavity holds heat. If the door is locked after cleaning, the lock motor and switch are our next stop. When a single oven function is missing while others work, the control board relays are tested. Everything is priced in writing before we start, and we stand behind the repair for 30 days.
Almost never. The element or its switch is the likely cause, and either can be replaced alone. We test both and give you the price for just the failed part.
They are two finishes of the same KFED500E range. The elements, switches, lock and control board are common to both, so the repair steps are identical. Only the exterior trim differs, and we confirm the plate before ordering.
A tired gasket or hinges that have started to sag. We check the seal contact all the way around and the way the door sits on its hinges.
