KCIT730S

KitchenAid KCIT730S Temp Cook Induction Cooktop, 30 Inches

KitchenAid cooktop

Most common issues on this model

  1. Temp Cook setting that will not hold temperature or shuts the zone off
  2. Cooking zone that is dead while the others heat normally
  3. Beeping, flashing display or control lock that will not clear
  4. Fan noise from the cooling system under the glass

Installed in a standard 30-inch countertop cutout, the KCIT730S is the compact choice when a kitchen wants induction without giving up five cooking zones. Most are set above a drawer base or over a built-in oven, so heat and dust collect in a tight space underneath.

The Temp Cook feature relies on a temperature reading from the pan, which means a failed sensor path or a bad connection can look like a cooktop that will not hold heat. We test that function separately from the ordinary power levels, then check every zone, the display and the cooling fan. Finish variants KCIT730SBL and KCIT730SSS share the same internals. If a pan is not being detected, we check the pan first, since induction ignores cookware that is not magnetic.

KCIT730SKCIT730S questions
Temp Cook on my KCIT730S stops before the food is done. What is wrong?

The feature depends on the zone reading the pan temperature. A weak sensor connection or an undersized pan interrupts it. We test Temp Cook against the normal power levels to see which part has failed.

Why would one zone be dead when four others work?

Each zone has its own coil and drive circuit. We measure the coil and the connections for that zone, and swap nothing until the reading proves it. Often it is a connector, not the glass top.

Is the fan running after I turn the cooktop off normal?

Yes, for a while. The cooling fan keeps running to clear heat from the electronics. If it is loud, rattling or never starts, we inspect the fan and the airflow path underneath.
