For steam-capable KitchenAid wall ovens, F7 E3 points to a possible problem with the water filter. This code is part of the water system and does not apply to every wall oven. The display shows it, and steam cooking may be limited until the filter is dealt with. Because only the filter is named, the repair starts there, but the water path around it is checked on the visit as well.
1. Press Cancel and make sure the oven is cool. 2. Look at the water filter location for your model and check that it sits properly. 3. Reset the breaker for one minute. 4. If F7 E3 returns, call us rather than running steam cycles.
It cleans water used by the steam system. F7 E3 says the filter may have a problem, which can limit steam cooking until it is dealt with.
If your model has an owner-accessible filter, check that it is seated. If the code persists, we can look at the whole water path and quote any repair before work.
The code belongs to the steam system. Regular modes may still work, but avoid steam until the code is resolved, and stop if the oven shows other codes.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
