Owners of KitchenAid induction cooktops, including the KCIG550JSS, who see F0E6 are told to disconnect power for a few seconds and reconnect it. When the problem persists after that, a service visit is the next step, and the code on the display should be quoted. The display stays locked on the code, and the zones stay cold. It is not a cookware message, so changing pans has no effect on it.
1. Switch all zones off. 2. Cut power at the breaker for a few seconds, then restore it. 3. Put a pan on a zone and see whether it heats without the code. 4. If F0E6 appears again, leave the cooktop off and call us.
Just one thing: remove power for a few seconds and bring it back. If the cooktop recovers, cook as usual. If not, report the code and book a technician.
It can. A brownout or a trip at the breaker upsets the control. If the code appeared after a storm, a reset may be enough, but a repeat deserves a visit.
Not usually. We find which part failed and quote it in writing first. Replacing the entire cooktop is only discussed if repair makes no sense.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
