KitchenAid KCGC506H 36-Inch Rangetop Repair

At 36 inches wide, the KCGC506H is a commercial gas rangetop, also sold as the KCGC506HSS. It is a larger rangetop that fits a wide countertop cutout, so we spend the visit comparing the burners and finding the one that behaves differently.
We check igniters, caps and valves, and test the spark module when several burners fail together. Grease and boil-overs reach the igniters and ports fastest on a rangetop used hard, so we clean those before testing. Afterward we light every burner at high, medium and low and confirm that the flame holds without lifting or dropping out.
If you smell gas, leave and call the gas utility from outside. We quote in writing first and back the work with a 30-day warranty.
The igniter may be weak or the burner ports clogged. We clean, reseat the cap and test the igniter, then check the valve. A quick test pinpoints it.
The steps are the same as for smaller ones, only with more burners to test. We check each one separately. Four burners or six, the method does not change; only the count of burners to test does.
When several burners fail to light together, the module is the common part. We test it and its supply before replacing it. That is the case on any rangetop.
