KitchenAid KOSE500E Oven Service

The KOSE500E is a discontinued built-in electric oven, also sold as the KOSE500EBL, KOSE500EBS and KOSE500ESS. These ovens are usually installed in a wall cabinet at eye level, and many are still in daily use.
A burned-out oven lamp is a quick repair, but the lamp holder can corrode and kill every new bulb, so we look at the socket and not only the bulb. A shifted or cracked inner door glass is a different job on the door assembly, and it affects how well the door insulates. A whining or buzzing sound from the top of the oven is usually the cooling fan in the control housing, which keeps the electronics from overheating.
We check the fan and lamp socket first, then the glass seating. The price is written before any part is ordered, and the work is backed by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
The lamp socket may have corroded or lost its spring contact, so bulbs run hot or flicker. We replace the holder along with the bulb, which stops the cycle of burned-out lamps.
The fan runs for a while to cool the control housing, but it should stop. If it runs for hours or squeals, the bearing or its temperature switch is worn and we replace it.
We would not wait. A cracked pane weakens the door insulation and can shatter with heat cycles. We replace the glass, and we check the hinges and frame at the same visit.
