What F01 means

A zero-padded F01 on KitchenAid electric single, double and combination wall ovens such as the KOSE507ESS points to the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the wiring between them. The oven cannot trust the cavity temperature it is measuring. You will see F01, and baking may stop or the oven may not preheat. The control may refuse to heat rather than run on bad data.

Common causes of F01

  • Oven temperature sensor failing
  • Control misreading the sensor
  • Wiring to the sensor loose or broken
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Allow the oven to cool completely. 2. Press Cancel to see if the code clears. 3. Turn off the breaker for one minute, restore power, and start a short bake. 4. Watch for F01 within the first few minutes. If it returns, stop using the oven and contact us.

! Why to stop there
  • The sensor probe inside the cavity is easy to bend, and wiring behind it is hidden.
  • A weak control and a weak sensor send the same message.
  • An accurate repair needs a resistance reading.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F01F01 questions
What is the difference between F01 and F1?

Both carry the same sensor, control and wiring meaning in the published list. They are separate entries, probably from different control generations, and we repair them the same way. Consider F01 the zero-padded spelling of the same warning, handled with the same tests as F1 and F2.

Can I check the sensor myself?

Do not bend or move the sensor inside the cavity. A technician can measure its resistance safely and compare it to the expected value. Leave the probe where it is: its position matters, and a quick meter reading tells us far more than any look inside.

Is it worth repairing?

Usually yes. We quote the price in writing first so you can decide, and we back the work for 30 days. A sensor swap is often a short job, and the work is covered for 30 days.
