KitchenAid Wall Oven Code F2 E5: interface and control communication

What F2 E5 means

On KitchenAid electric single, double and combination wall ovens like the KOSE500ESS, F2 E5 says the user interface or keypad, the control, or the associated wiring may have a problem. The two ends of the control conversation are not talking properly. You might see the code along with a blank or flickering display. Between flickers the screen itself may look fine.

Why is the display flickering?

Poor contact between the interface and control can cause it. The published meaning includes wiring for that reason. Poor contact between boards makes the picture flicker, and that is why the wiring is named in the published meaning.

Do I need a new control and interface?
