Combination wall ovens like the KOCE500ESS, along with KitchenAid electric single and double models, can display F3 E9 when the lower oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring may have a problem. The oven loses a trustworthy temperature signal from the lower cavity, so you may find a cycle stopped early with the code left on the screen.
1. Press Cancel and let the oven cool fully. 2. Reset the breaker: off for one minute, then on. 3. Run one brief bake to see whether F3 E9 returns. 4. If it does, switch the oven off and schedule us. Please do not try to reach the wiring behind the oven.
They share the same described meaning: the lower oven sensor, the control, or the wiring. The extra character after F3 is only a sub-code, so we diagnose them the same way, by testing the sensor circuit.
If it clears after a reset and stays gone through a full cycle, careful use is reasonable. If it returns at all, stop and call, because a drifting sensor can leave the oven badly mis-set.
We read the code, test the sensor circuit, check the control and connections, and give you a written quote before any parts are replaced, so the price is clear first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
