On KitchenAid combination microwave-wall ovens such as the KOCE507ESS, F4 E6 refers to the microwave wave guide temperature sensor, or the wiring connected to it. The code concerns the upper microwave cavity. The display shows it, and the microwave section may stay out of service until the sensor reading is trustworthy again. The oven is protecting a part of the microwave system it can no longer read, so avoid forcing repeated starts while the code is showing.
1. Press Cancel and let the whole oven cool for at least thirty minutes. 2. Check that nothing blocks the oven vents. 3. Turn the breaker off for a minute and back on. 4. Try a short run with water. If F4 E6 shows again, call us.
It is the channel that carries microwave energy into the cavity. Its temperature sensor watches that area, and F4 E6 means that sensor or its wiring may have a problem, so the oven cannot read it.
Yes. A cool-down of at least thirty minutes and one breaker reset are the only safe checks. A repeat code means the sensor or wiring needs testing, and we can do that on site.
The lower oven is a separate cavity. Use it only if it runs without codes, and avoid starting the microwave while F4 E6 keeps returning, since the control cannot read that area.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
