KitchenAid electric single, double and combination wall ovens, for example the KOSE507ESS or the KOCE500ESS, show PUSH or PSH when you have set up a cooking function but have not pressed Start. The Start pad begins every oven function, and if it is not pressed within 5 seconds of your selection, the display adds this reminder. The oven is waiting for you, not reporting a failure.
1. Choose your cooking function and temperature as usual. 2. Press Start within 5 seconds so the oven begins heating. 3. If the message appears, set the function again and press Start straight away. 4. Wipe the keypad with a dry soft cloth if it feels unresponsive, since moisture or grease can interfere. 5. If Start never responds, switch the oven breaker off for a minute, restore it and try once more before calling us.
The oven is telling you to press Start. A cooking function was chosen, but Start was not pressed within 5 seconds, so the display prompts you instead of beginning to heat.
Yes. Some displays have room for only three characters, so the same Press Start reminder reads PSH. It carries the same meaning and clears when you press Start and the oven begins the function.
Try pressing Start more firmly on a clean, dry keypad. If the oven still does not begin the function, call us. A pad that will not register is a control matter, and we quote it in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
