The words Sabbath and Sab, or the character strings 5Ab and 5A7, appear on KitchenAid electric single, double and combination wall ovens, for example the KODE500ESS or the KOSE507ESS, to show that Sabbath Mode is enabled. Which wording you see depends on how many characters the display can show. While the mode is on, the oven stays on in a Bake setting until turned off and no other cooking or cleaning cycle operates.
1. Read the display; any of these four strings means the same enabled mode. 2. Do not expect Broil, Self-Clean or other cycles to start while it shows. 3. Cancel Sabbath Mode through your oven's settings steps. 4. Confirm the display returns to the clock and that normal functions respond. 5. If the string stays after canceling, turn the oven breaker off for one minute, restore it and retry before calling us.
They are the way some displays spell the Sabbath indication when the screen cannot show the full word. 5Ab and 5A7 carry the same meaning as Sabbath and Sab: the mode is enabled.
It will bake, because the mode keeps the oven on in a Bake setting until turned off. Other cooking and cleaning cycles do not operate until you cancel the mode.
Not at first. Cancel the mode with the oven's settings steps. If the string remains after a breaker reset and a second try, call us and we will quote a visit in writing before any work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
