Steam-capable KitchenAid wall ovens use F7 E1 for a possible problem with the water boiler temperature sensor, or its wiring. This code is part of the steam system and does not apply to every wall oven. You will see it on the display, and steam functions may not start. Because the boiler and its sensor are named, avoid steam cycles until the oven has been tested, and do not open the oven body.
1. Cancel the steam cycle and let the oven cool completely. 2. Turn the breaker off for one minute and on again. 3. Try a short steam cycle and watch the display. 4. If F7 E1 returns, stop using steam and call us. Do not open any panel.
It tracks the temperature of the oven's water boiler. F7 E1 means that sensor or its wiring may have a problem, so the oven cannot judge boiler heat for steam cooking.
Avoid steam until it is tested. Use other modes only if the oven allows them and shows no code, and stop if the code appears during a cycle.
We check the sensor circuit and its connection, explain what we found in plain words, and quote the repair in writing before any part is replaced.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
