A KitchenAid electric single or double wall oven such as the KODE500ESS may show F8 E3 when the oven cooling fan, or the wiring that feeds it, may have a problem. The control cannot count on the airflow it expects. You will see the code, and heating may stop. Because the fan and wiring are named, a technician tests the fan circuit first, and any other codes on the display help narrow it down.
1. Press Cancel and let the cavity cool completely. 2. Look for blocked vents and clear them gently with a dry cloth. 3. Shut the breaker for a minute, then close it again. 4. If F8 E3 returns, leave the oven off and call us. Never open the oven body.
F8 E3 names the oven cooling fan without saying upper or lower. We find which fan is involved on site and tell you before quoting the repair.
A reset can clear a one-time code. If F8 E3 comes back, the fan or its wiring needs testing, and repeated resets will not change that result.
Soon, since using the oven without proper cooling is risky. Leave the oven off, switch its breaker off if you prefer, and book a visit so the fan circuit is tested.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
