On some KitchenAid built-in refrigerators (KBSD, KBFN, KBBL, KBBR), such as the KBSD608ESS and KBFN502ESS, the word Showroom lights up on the display when Showroom mode is on. In this mode, cooling is off and all functions except the interior lighting are deactivated. Owners see a working light and display with warm contents. The exit sequence varies by model, so use the instructions for your unit. It is a mode indicator.
1. Read the display for the word Showroom. 2. Find the exit sequence for your model in the instructions that came with it. 3. Complete the sequence and check that the word clears. 4. Let the refrigerator cool for several hours. 5. If Showroom stays on or the cabinet stays warm, call us.
Showroom mode is on. Cooling is off and everything except the interior lighting is deactivated, so the light works but the refrigerator is not cooling.
The exit sequence varies by model, so follow the instructions for yours. When the word clears, the refrigerator can start cooling again. If the word does not clear, call us and we will help.
Allow several hours after exiting the mode. If it is still warm after that, or the word returns, the mode is no longer the cause and you should call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
